What It Is

Custom embroidery is a decorative embellishment on fabric, created with a needle and thread on a computer controlled sewing machine, that depicts a graphic and/or descriptive text.  A custom embroidery design is generally several thousand stitches using several different colors of thread. Although the actual sewing of the embroidery process is usually computer controlled, the art of creating the pattern, called "digitizing" will ultimately determine the end quality of the embroidery.

Digitizing Your Logo or Custom Design:

The most important part of any embroidery job begins with the designer or (sometimes called a digitizer).  Their job is to take your logo or design and convert it into a series of stitches that will be stitched on a garment. This is a one-time charge for those customers who want embroidered items that cannot be created from our stock fonts. Once your logo or design is digitized for embroidery, it can be used for future order without further digitizing charges. The one-time digitizing cost for a left chest design is $ 45.00, and the cost for a back design is $ 100.00.

Embroidery Locations

The locations you can apply an embroidered design vary by the type of garment.  The embroidery charge is based on the number of locations you choose.  Most people choose to embroider the primary location since it is the most visible, however there is no limit to the number of locations to embroider.   Proper placement is crucial when adding your logo to promotional Apparel. The left chest is the most common choice for logo placement, with optional personalization on the right chest. Additionally, one could embroider the left or right sleeve. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, try placing your logo on the back of the shirt, just below the collar. Embroidered logos for caps and visors can be placed on the crown, on the left or right side of the cap or on back of the cap.

For a typical left chest embroidery, the ideal design has a maximum dimension of 3.5" - 4.0". There are exceptions when a design has one dimension that is several times larger than the other. The size of many designs is dictated by the smallest text in the design. We will size your design appropriately based on our experience.

The maximum height for a headwear design is 2.25" high (less for visors). The width may be as wide as 5" or even more.
